It is the mission of Waterfall Canyon Academy to provide the highest quality clinical, academic, and behavioral intervention services in order for our students to become contributing members to their family, and become able to live to their fullest potential as young adults in society. We provide a continuum of care including a Residential Treatment Program for males/females, a Transition Program for males and an Independent Living Program for young adult males. The most appropriate placement will be discussed during the admission process.
Our students can best be described as young men and women with complex social, emotional, behavioral, cognitive and academic issues. Most students have a recent diagnosis of Autism/Aspergers/PDD NOS and struggle with emotional regulation.
Waterfall Canyon Academy provides a highly structured behavioral shaping program designed to teach and instill appropriate social skills and daily living skills. Our Students receive individual and family therapy services at a minimum of two hours per week, and an average of three hours per week. A variety of group therapies are provided daily as well. Each student attends four to five group therapy sessions weekly. Academics are provided by Oak Grove School (accredited by Northwest Association of Accredited Schools) in our school building which includes classrooms, a library and a large physical fitness area. Social and daily living skills classes are taught daily by program staff as an integral piece of the academic program. Educational field trips are provided two times each week.
Recreational opportunities such as boating, snow skiing, sporting events, fishing, camping, fine arts and cultural events are enjoyed on a weekly basis.
