Program Description

Provo Canyon School (PCS) is dedicated to providing an outstanding residential and academic treatment setting.  PCS has a proven track record of over 40 years, helping youth who are manifesting emotional, behavioral, and learning difficulties and have been unresponsive to previous residential placements, out-patient counseling, substance abuse treatment, and alternative academic treatment settings.  Provo Canyon School offers individualized therapeutic treatment and academic instruction through the following specialized services:

  • Gender Specific Boy’s Residential Treatment Program
  • Gender Specific Girl’s Residential Treatment Program
  • Gender Specific Intensive Residential Treatment Program (separate boy’s and girl’s program) 
  • Older Elementary Age Residential Treatment Program (ages 8-11)
  • Latency -Age Residential Treatment Program (ages 11-13)

 

Provo Canyon School is a certified Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) with two full-time psychiatrists and twenty-four hour nursing support. Provo Canyon School’s academics offer over 140 courses each year in a fully accredited Elementary (3rd through 6th) , Junior High (7-9th) and High School.  Our highly structured and supportive living environment involves a busy schedule; including academic study, athletics, clubs, work training, and outdoor activities.  Our continuum of care offers a variety of residential attention, each with its specific formal therapy; individual, family, recreation and group therapies by Certified Clinical Staff.  Some of these include:

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) fully accredited
  • Neuro / Bio-Feedback
  • Drug & Alcohol Treatment Program
  • Self-harm
  • Oppositional Defiant, Conduct Disorder
  • Mood Disorders, Anxiety, Depression, Phobias, Poor Self-Esteem
  • Reactive Attachment Disorder Treatment
